The owners of Unicorn Family Care take hiring CareGivers incredibly seriously, afterall, we are your long-awaited, experienced village.
We take ample time to get to know each CareGiver on a personal level, collect and check their character references and employee references, file their recent criminal and vulnerable sector checks, obtain a work history report, collect and file copies of their certifications, rank them on our 3 level chart, personally see them interact with our loved ones, the list goes on… Once we are satisfied, then and only then, will we offer them the opportunity to join our Unicorn Family Care team. CareGivers MUST show us that they have the stamina, skills, personality, ability and temperament to manage and work with a variety of individuals and needs and complete duties in a safe manner.
We don’t hire teenagers who may be waiting for the kids to doze off to invite friends over while you are away or spend all night on the phone talking to their boyfriend. We only hire mature, professional adults with a variety of rich personal experiences, educational backgrounds and, in some cases, they have devoted their life to caring for others.

We have high standards and expectations for all of our CareGivers. These include but are not limited to the following:
They will arrive 15 minutes early for every shift
They will wear business casual clothing that is appropriate to wear around children, seniors, and sensitive individuals
They will leave the Family’s home in better condition than when they arrived
They will provide the Family a verbal summary of what took place while they were away
They will not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at any point during their shift
They will not smoke or vape anything, including e-cigarettes and cannabis, on shift
They agree to follow the family’s rules, routines, diets and expectations
The CareGiver will not have their children, or others attend the family's house unless its pre-approved by the Family
The CareGiver will not disclose information about their location on ANY social media network or communicate it with anyone besides the Family
The CareGiver understands that all information collected and shared by the Family and/or their dependents during the course of employment, including but not limited to personal,
medical, financial, legal, and career information, is strictly confidential and may not be disclosed, divulged, revealed, or reported to third parties unless one is in immediate danger of themselves or others
The CareGiver agrees they will not organize get togethers with others, unless the Family has preauthorized doing so
In the event of an emergency, the CareGiver must call 9-1-1 first, an emergency contact, lastly, an owner of Unicorn Family Care
If a CareGiver accompanies an individual off the family property the CareGiver must carry all emergency contact information and medical personal information. The CareGiver must have access to a charged cell phone AT ALL TIMES. Should the individual receiving care need medical devices or medication, all supplies must be provided by the Family, kept in the backpack and the CareGiver must feel comfortable using it. (Medical device training is provided by the Family)
