CareGiver Hiring Process

At Unicorn Family Care, we are dedicated to ensuring exceptional care for your family. Please feel free to look over the Onboarding process we use when bringing someone in to work on behalf of Unicorn Family Care Ltd.


What to expect as a Unicorn CareGiver, Step-by-Step:


1. Application Submission

   - Submit your resume, cover letter, and application, detailing your experience and skills. Colleen and Corrina will review these documents to assess alignment with our high standards.


2. Initial Interview

   - Participate in a comprehensive phone or video interview where your qualifications, genuine interest, and childcare approach are evaluated. Discuss past experiences and methods for managing child behavior.


3. Written Exam

   - Study the provided staff course and pass a written exam with a minimum score of 80%. This demonstrates your understanding of our standards.


4. Personal and Professional Assessment

   - Complete a "Get to Know You" form and provide background information. Colleen and Corrina will conduct reference checks and verify your certifications.


5. Second Interview

   - If references are positive, attend a detailed second interview to discuss job specifics and expectations.


6. Agree to Unicorn Family Care policies

   -Read, understand and sign both the CareGiver Policy and the Unicorn Family Care General Knowledge Policy


7. System Access

   - Receive your staff username and password to link to our 2-way booking system. This allows families to view your availability and schedule services seamlessly.


8. Certification

   - Upon successful completion of evaluations and system setup, you will be certified as a "Potential Caregiver" and listed on our website.


9. Personalized Introduction

   - Participate in a meet-and-greet, if desired, via virtual interview or phone call, at the family’s request, to get acquainted with the environment, rules, and expectations.


10. Ongoing Feedback

    - We gather feedback from families to ensure continued high performance. You have the opportunity to address any feedback and improve.


11. Final Confirmation

    - Receive five consecutive feedbacks with 100% satisfaction to be officially hired, confirming your exceptional performance and fit.


12. Continued Evaluation

    - Colleen and Corrina regularly check in with families to ensure that caregivers consistently meet and exceed expectations.
